He's just naturally curious, really. Being curious is one of the first conscious thoughts he can remember experiencing. Learning things is fascinating, and fun - like putting together a puzzle, assembling the world around him bit by bit to find whole new colors and patterns to explore. It's something he spent most of his time in the labs doing. Now that he's out of the labs, though, he's starting to realize that there's a big difference between knowing something abstractly and actually experiencing it.
Which is why he's practically plastered up against the PET screen having his mind blown by snow.
[It's really weird to see someone so fascinated by something you take for granted. Not that snow isn't a novelty; Lan's not nearly old enough for it to be that terrible or inconvenient, but it's not easy for him to put himself in Megaman's shoes.
It's also kinda funny though, and he's laughing a little as he tilts the PET to try to catch some flakes on the screen, getting them as close as he's going to get to Megaman's hands.]
[That gets a giddy laugh out of him - he's doing the thing again. The one where he gets so excited he starts acting like he's much younger than Lan. (to be fair, in some ways he kind of is) Try not to tease him too much, he's having A Moment right now.]
It's so pretty! [He presses against the projection of the screen to get a better look at a flake before it melts.] I can't believe water can do something like this!
[He won't tease right now, but that doesn't mean he won't at some point in the future. Not sure when, but he'll sure find a time when Megaman squeeing over snow is relevant. Or irrelevant.]
It's okay. [Less pretty when you're forced to be out in it. Of course, he's out voluntarily at the moment, so it's just okay for the time being.] Wish you could see the flakes better. They're supposed to all be different shapes. You might be able to.
[Megaman's certainly trying. Sadly, landing on the warm screen of a running PET doesn't do much for snowflake structural integrity.]
I read about that! It's because of how the water freezes, and the kind of air it moves through-
[He gasps in delight when a particularly promising flake makes a landing - only for the warm water from another melted one to absorb it and ruin it before he has a chance to examine it. Have the saddest of sighs, Lan.] I wish I could see it, too.
They do freeze all the way, they just freeze slowly, while they fall. It's the patches of different humidity and air temperature they pass through while they freeze that makes them take different shapes.
[Not that he's really expecting to be listened to at this point. You know, Lan, maybe if you paid attention to your brother's bouts of nerding out you could learn things that'd help you get better grades. It's gotta be more entertaining than getting a lecture from Megaman, if nothing else.
And he certainly can't argue with those points - not that he particularly wants to be in the real world. He just really wants to see what a snowflake looks like.]
Atlantica. Being underwater was nerve-wracking, to begin with. Roxas felt that he might drown at any minute with the water filling his lungs. Of course the potion he'd been given by the Superior had kept him safe and changed him into something compatible to the world he was going to... more or less. Unlike his Other, whom he knew nothing about, Roxas had a rather slow form. The one advantage seemed to be that he could hold on to his enemies or his keyblade with his very powerful tail.
Since he was alone, and today's mission had simply been to collect a certain number of hearts and return to the castle. But with all of the hearts collected, and time left in the day, the Nobody couldn't help but find himself curious about his surroundings. He'd never been underwater before, and the way things moved, and the bright creatures all over the place... He found himself drifting near a coral outcropping, lost in watching the colorful fish swim in and out. His keyblade was still gripped loosely in his tail, a smile across his lips.
4-14 BABY BROOOOOOOOO

He's never actually seen it before, okay?]
Whoa...
BIG BROOOO

Hehe, what do you think of it?

Yeah, they don't uh...freeze completely, I think. Or else they'd just become tiny ice cubes...
[He might've started talking over Megaman's explanation a bit. No Megaman-sensei please.]
Wellll...at least you're warm and dry in there and don't have to worry about freezing your feet or nose off?
I totally didn't reply to the wrong thing I swear

If you're that cold, you should go back inside.

[He listened to that part! But it was one of those rare instances where he actually realized he was being kind of a jerk and backpedaled.]
Nah, I'm not that cold yet. I might stay outside a little longer...make some snowballs, just in case...
[Someone might need a snowball or two to the back sometime in the future. Gotta be prepared.]
no subject
[So very stern. Don't you dare go chucking snowballs at people unprovoked, young man!]
Just don't stay out too long, okay? Or at least take breaks to go in and warm up. You don't want to end up getting sick or something.

[Like Dex.]

[Squiinting at the PET screen.]
...Wait, do you mean if I do it now or if I do it any time ever?

[As for that threat? He just stares sternly right back at Lan. Which do you think he means, bb bro? (spoiler he means "any time ever.")]
